PROGRAMS FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

All high school students who live in or attend school in Lake Forest, Lake Bluff and Knollwood are welcome. Take a mid-week break from your busy schedule to have fun, make new friends, play games, talk about issues that are important to you, learn about volunteer opportunities, vote on community events, join a CROYA subcommittee, coordinate with community resources, and take on leadership roles.

Weekly Meetings

All High School Meetings are Wednesdays from 7:00 – 8:00 pm. They attract many students and are run by the High School Executive Committee. Each meeting includes an announcement section to share about upcoming leadership and service opportunities, followed by a fun, interactive activity that you wouldn’t have the opportunity to do anywhere else. Activities could include playing bubble ball, flour tag, or having a photo scavenger hunt. At CROYA, anything is possible!

The CROYA Student Union

Our Student Union is open every day after school from 3:30 – 5:30 pm for 7th – 12th graders and is the perfect hangout for teenagers. Food, ping pong tables, a pool table, game room, music studio, dance studio, and a stage for performances and more. What’s not to love about that?

Peer Training

When young adults have problems, they typically turn to their friends for help first. The CROYA Peer Training program teaches young adults how to be active listeners and problem solvers when their friends need help with typical teenage struggles. Students become more skilled in their ability to understand themselves and others, and learn to listen to and respond to themselves and others in healthy ways.

2025 High School Executive Committee

High School Executive Committee

Want to be on the Executive Committee to plan the best school year yet? Elections for Exec take place every April/May. There are 14 positions (some with multiple openings) that students can run for. Being a part of CROYA Exec is an unbeatable leadership experience, so we encourage anyone and everyone to run!

Community Service Projects

We believe that the best way young adults grow, is by giving back to others. Throughout the year, CROYA offers a number of service projects, including our Pink Party service meeting to help those receiving treatment for cancer, partnering with Gorton for their Kids Only Holiday Shopping, as well as our week-long High School Work Trip to Macomb, IL.

Fall and Spring Weekend Retreats

CROYA Retreats have been labeled as “life-changing weekends” at which students break down stereotypes, build positive self-esteem, make new friends, address issues facing teenagers, and pause for self-reflection.
