Each year, the CROYA Foundation presents three Senior Awards in honor of the Founding Fathers of CROYA.
1. The Margot Martino “Spirit of CROYA” Essay Contest;
2. The Frank Farwell “Community Service” Award; and
3. The Eugene Hotchkiss “Community Citizenship” Award.
These scholarships are voted on by a committee of youth and presented at the annual Senior Recognition Dinner in the spring.
More than 2,000 students from 7th grade through high school are involved in 300+ CROYA programs and meetings every year. More than 90 percent of the programs and activities offered at CROYA are free of charge for any young adults living in Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, and Knollwood. Not all students can afford to attend the outings that include a fee: the Fall and Spring Weekend Retreats, annual weeklong work trips, and two-day work stays. Thanks to scholarships provided by the CROYA Foundation, no student is ever turned away for financial reasons. Your donation to the CROYA Foundation will ensure that all local kids have the opportunity to participate in CROYA events, regardless of their ability to pay.
The CROYA Foundation raised the funds to purchase the 15-passenger van that CROYA uses to pick up students from the schools, as well as transport youth on CROYA trips. The CROYA Foundation also accepts Student Grant Requests from youth for special projects, programs, and equipment not accounted for in the CROYA budget.
Donations may be mailed to: CROYA Foundation, 400 Hastings Rd, Lake Forest, IL 60045.
