CROYA ANNOUNCEMENTS
GUIDELINES UPDATE AS OF 8/23/21
1: A waiver will be required for anyone attending CROYA meetings, after-school hours, or programs. The waiver will need to be completed by a parent, and only needs to be completed once for the school year. Waiver can be completed here.
- If you had a waiver last year, you will need a new waiver for this year.
- If you already have a barcode to sign in, the barcode will still work for this year!
2: Masks will be required indoors for any participant in CROYA meetings, after-school hours, or programs.
3: Students do not need to be signed up to attend any CROYA meetings or after-school hours. Any student is welcome to attend at any time, as long as a waiver is on file. Programs may have sign-ups as needed depending on program size limits.
After School Hours Returning!
Wednesday, August 25th
3:30-5:30 PM, every day after school! Open to 6th-12th graders.

First High School Meeting!
Wednesday, September 1, 7-8PM
Waiver will be required for all students, can be completed by a parent here.

- Peer Training – An 11-week voluntary course for high school students to learn active listening skills, how to be a strong leader, and how to help a friend in need.
- High School Retreats – a weekend trip to Wisconsin where students learn about themselves, build deep connections, get out of their comfort zones, and have fun.
- CROYA Summer Worktrip – A week-long service opportunity in which high school students help to repair, replace and renew homes of families in need. We have worked in Appalachia and Battle Creek, Michigan.
- CROYA Summer Workstay – A two-day service opportunity for high school and middle school students to work on various service projects in the surrounding communities.
- Westmoreland – During the holiday season, students bring donated poinsettias and visit with the residents to brighten their day.
- Center For Enriched Living – Students volunteer at this recreation center to enrich the lives of people with disabilities.
- 8th grade Transitional Activities – Students ease the minds of 8th graders as they transition into high school by providing Q&A sessions, panel discussions and tours of the high school.
- College Transition Programs – Students organize informative workshops for those students going off to college.
- Artisans for CROYA Art Fair – Students help the LF / LB Artisans Guild set up for the Labor Day Weekend Fair.
- Friends of Lake Forest Library Book Sale – Students help unpack and repack books for the Book Sale.
- Lake Forest Tree Lighting Ceremony
- Gorton Holiday Shop – Students help youngsters pick out presents for their parents and siblings.
- Ronald McDonald House – Students cook and serve dinner for families who have children undergoing treatment at Lurie Children’s Hospital.
- Kinderhaven Art Show – Students help preschoolers with crafts, art and coloring.
- Benny’s Bazaar – Annual Holiday Bazaar to raise money for Benny’s World.
- Midwest Veteran’s Closet – Donate your time and have a BBQ with veterans transitioning out of homelessness.
- Feed My Starving Children
- Bernie’s Book Bank
- Girls on the Run 5K – Students face paint and do activities with younger kids after they finish their first 5K.
- House of Peace – Students help with various projects at a shelter for women and children faced with domestic violence.
- PADS – Students pack brown bag lunches for the homeless in the surrounding communities.
